RESULTS
Re-Benham Calculations
This uses Jave-script for calculations. Make sure it is enabled on your browser.
The purpose of this page is to apportion a taxable estate between taxable and non taxable beneficiaries so that the net estate after tax is apportioned between them in a fixed proportion
Instructions
All fields in the input form are editable.

Tax Rate %
This is set at 40% and only needs to be altered if Inheritance tax rates change.

Nil Rate £
This is to enable you to adjust the Nil rate band appropriate to the estate either because of

1) Rate changes

2)unused allowances inherited from spouces.

3) Where there are Specific bequests see "Specific Bequests"  for notes on allowing for specific bequests.

Amounts can be input with a pounds sign or not as you wish and numbers can include a comma seperator.

Total Estate
This is the total estate less any spcecific bequests but note that an adjustment is needed to the amount specified in the Nil Rate box.

Tax Free Share & Taxable Share
These can be percentages but generally the are numbers representun a ratio.

Calculate Button
The results should appear in "Results" section of the page.

Specific Bequests
If Specific bequests are less than the nil Rate Band just reduce both the Estate and the Nil Rate Band by the amount of the specific Bequests.

Problems "Nothing Happens"
Look at the instructions again and check what is on the screen as input and see if any fields are missed out or have extraneous letters in them. Reload the page and try again.
