Loans
Actuarial advice may be needed on loans in two circumstances

1) Where there is a dispute about an existing personal loan and whether the APR has been quoted correctly.

2) Where there are penalties on early repayment of fixed rate loan. It is common with a fixed rate loan for there to be a penalty on early repayment if interest rates fall. This is frequently linked to the price of a gilt stock with a view to enabling the lender to achieve the same return by investing the repayment in the appropriate gilt. However if repayment is part way through the loan period, the early repayment terms may be unfair and there may be scope to negotiate substantial improvements in the terms if the original terms were unfair.
